Pamelia is a town of approximately 3,000 people in Jefferson County, New York. Prostitution has been documented in the community, as have the arrests of sex buyers. In September 2019, a 75-year-old man was arrested by state police and charged with two counts of third-degree patronizing a prostitute, a class A misdemeanor. The charges stemmed from reports of the man engaging in sexual conduct with two female victims in exchange for money on several occasions in June 2019 at a motel in Pamelia. The man was issued tickets and ordered to appear in the town of Pamelia court. His identity was included in news reports.
