Gresham is a city of approximately 113,000 residents located in Multnomah County, Oregon, immediately east of Portland. It is considered a suburb within the Greater Portland Metropolitan area.

Identity disclosure of an arrested sex buyer has occurred in the city. In March 2023, a sex trafficking operation was conducted by the Lake Oswego Police Department with the assistance of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon City Police Department, Milwaukie Police Department, and Sandy Police Department. The reverse sting resulted in the arrest of eight sex buyers, including an assistant principal at Centennial High School, located in Gresham. The man initially gave a false name and refused to identify himself, so he was charged with commercial sexual solicitation and giving false information to a peace officer in connection with a citation. His identity was released to the press. After receiving information about the arrest, the Centennial School District placed the man on administrative leave pending further investigation and notified parents. The district declined to offer further details about the case. As of November 2023, it is unknown whether a more permanent employment loss resulted from the arrest.
