Delmar is a town of roughly 3,000 residents in Wicomico County, Maryland.  The community straddles the state line with Delaware. To address problems associated with prostitution in the city, police have employed tactics that focus on deterring sex buyers.  In December 2017, the Maryland State Police led a reverse sting that resulted in the arrest of four sex buyers, including a local councilman and a former police chief.  The names, ages, and location of residence were released for the arrestees.  According to records from the District Court of Maryland for Wicomico County, men responded to online ads and agreed to meet at a hotel room.  The amount of money exchanged for sex between the arrested individuals and the undercover MSP trooper ranged from $40 to $220.
