Weston is a village in Marathon County, Wisconsin. It is part of the Wausau Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its population is approximately 15,000. Prostitution activity has been well-documented in the city and surrounding communities, and in unincorporated areas of the county. This activity and the problems and ancillary crimes it generates results in complaints to law enforcement agencies from residents and businesses. Among the more serious crimes associated with the local commercial sex market is sex trafficking.

Consumer level demand provides the revenue stream for all prostitution and sex trafficking, and has therefore been targeted by local law enforcement agencies as a strategy for prevention and response. Demand reduction tactics used in the town include the arrest of sex buyers.  For example, n April, 2021 a man was cited with “solicitation of a prostitute” after he called police to report the theft of $400.  Everest Metro Police responded to a call about an incident at the Weston hotel, where a man reported he had given money to a woman and she did not hold up her end of a financial agreement.  The man initially told police he had gone online to find a masseuse, and she arrived at the hotel and he paid her through Paypal. Under questioning by police, the man later admitted he found the woman on a site known for prostitution, and she had taken his money but failed to provide him with the sex acts they had agreed upon.
