Mason is a city in southwestern Warren County, Ohio, United States, approximately 22 miles north of downtown Cincinnati. As of the 2020 census, Mason’s population was approximately 35,000. Consumer level demand provides the revenue stream for all prostitution and sex trafficking, and demand reduction tactics have been employed in the city.  Identity disclosure and loss of employment are consequence of buying sex that have occurred locally. For example, in July, 2015, a Mason City Councilman submitted a letter of resignation to Mason’s Mayor. The man had been questioned as part of a prostitution investigation. He was not charged with a crime and said his involvement in the investigation was a misunderstanding. The resignation went into effect on Aug. 10, 2015.
