Loris is a small city of approximately 3,000 residents located in Horry County, South Carolina. In an effort to curtail demand for prostitution, the Loris Police Department has conducted at least one street-level reverse sting. In August 2007, one reverse sting resulted in the arrest of four sex bueyrs. Driven by community complaints, Loris and Horry County police sent two female officers undercover to the Broad Street area to act as decoys. When men attempted to solicit sex from the women, they were quickly arrested. Police released the men’s names and other identifying information to the local media.
