Fowlerville is a village in Livingston County, in southeastern Michigan. Its population is roughly 3,000.  Prostitution activity has been well-documented within Livingston County, and the problems and ancillary crimes it generates results in complaints to law enforcement agencies from residents and businesses. Among the more serious crimes associated with the local commercial sex market is sex trafficking. For example, in 2017 a local woman was arrested and accused of sex trafficking at least three minor girls between 2009 and 2014. She was charged with three counts each of minor sex trafficking and prostitution/pandering, and one count each of accepting earnings from prostitution, debt bondage, and conducting a criminal enterprise. The attorney general’s office said that the defendant allegedly conducted an “escort” operation in the area and posted advertisements for commercial sex for herself and at least three other girls and young women online.
