Foristell is a small town of less than 600 residents, located in St. Charles and Warren counties in eastern Missouri. Consumer level demand provides the revenue stream for all prostitution and sex trafficking, and demand reduction tactics have been used in Foristell. On at least one occasion, local law enforcement have taken proactive steps to identify and arrest attempted commercial sex buyers. In early December 2016, the Foristell Police Department responded to a personal ad posted on a website known for prostitution solicitation and posed as a decoy prostituting person. During their correspondence, the man reportedly made an offer of money in exchange for sex, and arranged to meet the decoy at a location in Foristell. When he arrived, he was arrested by law enforcement. Following the sting, the man’s identity was publicized in press.
