Edmond is a city in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.  It is part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area in the central part of the state, and has a population of approximately 95,000. Prostitution activity has been well-documented in the city and surrounding areas. This activity and the problems and ancillary crimes it generates results in complaints to law enforcement agencies from residents and businesses. Among the more serious crimes associated with the local commercial sex market is sex trafficking.

Consumer level demand provides the revenue stream for all prostitution and sex trafficking, and has been targeted by local law enforcement agencies as a strategy for prevention and response. For example, in January, 2023, Oklahoma City Police arrested two men in Edmond who were charged with soliciting prostitution. The OKCPD Vice Unit made contact with the two men after a Vice Enforcement Officer made contact with the men through an online escort ad.  Police went undercover and contacted the men. Both agreed to “provide a specific sexual contact in exchange for cash”, according to police reports. Both men were arrested at a hotel in Edmond and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Their identities were included in news reports.
