Demand reduction tactics have been implemented in effort to address prostitution and sex trafficking. For example, during a traffic stop in August 2021, it was discovered the driver of the vehicle had been arrested for multiple sex crimes (including prostitution) two months earlier and was out on bail. The 40-year-old man was accompanied by a minor female. Concerned for the girl’s safety, detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Adult Sex Crimes Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The man was subsequently arrested on a new charge of Sex Abuse in the 3rd Degree. His name, age, and photo were included in news reports.
